Detect and document natural events quickly and efficiently.

The documentation of natural events is worldwide an important basis for event analysis and hazards assessment. For events of national significance in Switzerland, the federal Rapid Mapping service offers the timely collection and provision of geodata (such as aerial and satellite images).

The NPOC actively supports the relevant authorities at all federal levels (Confederation, cantons, municipalities) in managing, assessing and documenting the impacts of natural events using satellite data.
