Successful Days at Fantasy Basel 2026

At the end of May 2026, the scientific NPOC participated in Fantasy Basel, one of Switzerland’s largest pop culture and fantasy conventions, attracting around 100,000 visitors. As part of the Space Exchange Switzerland (SXS) consortium, the NPOC showcased the fascinating world of Earth observation at the joint exhibition booth.

Visitors had the opportunity to learn about satellite data through an information display, assemble satellite image jigsaw puzzles, and test their knowledge in an interactive quiz. The interactive activities were very well received, particularly by younger visitors, and provided an engaging introduction to the world of Earth observation and satellites.
